Frequently Asked Questions Desiderium
We are very excited that you are ready to burn your new candle! Doing so is very simple, on your first burn, please allow the melted wax to reach the edges, this should be done in a couple of hours, do the same every time you light them again and don’t forget to trim your X wick to ¼ of an inch before every use.
There are 2 ways that you can trim your X wick at home, in both ways you have to trim it to ¼ of an inch. The first one is to use scissors to cut the excess wick. The second one is to use your fingers and peel the burned part of your X wick which should come off very easily without the need of applying any pressure to break it.
Wood wicks are so different from what we are used to seeing, and they provide a different vibe and looks to our candle, not to mention that they perfectly match with our wood dough bowls! We use wood wicks in order to take advantage of their unique properties some of them being they produce little carbon buildup, debris, or sooting, produce a tantalizing crackling sound when burning, and lastly produce an excellent scent throw.
We use this innovative wick technology that suits perfectly with our wax blend. This “X” wick allows our wax to reach a full melt pool in doing so avoiding tunneling and wasting wax.
This is very normal on our signature wood dough bowl. When the melted wax comes in contact with wood it can slightly be tainted in light brown. There is nothing to worry about since it won't affect your candle performance.
No! We are very proud to say that we have developed an all-natural recipe of only vegetable waxes consisting of a blend of Soy, Coconut, and Bee wax. We believe in having an environmentally conscious company and do not use harmful ingredients in any of our candles.
Our products are free from phthalates, parabens, sulfates, vybar, stearic acid, and paraffin.
Of Course! That’s one of the things we thought about when creating this special vessel, is that it can be reused for many things! Just get rid of any leftover wax, rinse your bowl and clean it thoroughly, and there you go.
You can use it as a fruit bowl or pen holder, it can also be a catch-all tray, or use it in any of your mind’s ideas. Send us a picture to see how our customers give these candle vessels a second life!
